Branded Domains

September 14, 20224 min read

The first thing is what are the different options of a root domain or a sub domain? The root domain is the actual domain itself that you're purchasing, it's got nothing before, nothing after it, just blank dot blank. Like domain.com, domain.org, domain.net, cultivating sales.com, cultivating sales pro.com, google.com. All of those options.

Then we have sub domains, which is adding a prefix. These are free to add in your DNS settings of the root domain that you purchase. So the sub domains are created with whatever word you want dot your domain.com. So members.cultivatingsales.com, certification.cultivatingsales.com, events.cultivatingsales.com, things like that.

Domain DNS

And then we also have the path which comes after the domain.com/ ….so that's designating certain pages. Like website.com/home website.com/services, website.com/about things like that. So you can see our examples here, cultivatingsales.com/home, www.cultivatingsales.com/purchase. Those examples, you can see how it can include both a sub domain or a root domain. Paths are just utilized for whatever page you are creating. You can see that www is the sub domain, cultivatingsales.com, is the root domain and home is the page path.

Root Domain - domain.com - A Record - @ - Pointing To 34.68.234.4

Sub Domain - word.domain.com - CNAME Record - word - Pointing To flash.funnels.msgsndr.com

Then we can talk about how to actually add your DNS records. The paths we do inside adding the domains though, actually have to be done in the DNS records. In order to do so, you have to go to wherever your domain, DNS records are editable, this could be in GoDaddy cloud, flare host, Gator, Namecheap, wherever you can edit those DNS records. Then you have the option of adding an A record (root domain) or a CNAME record (subdomain). For the A record, you have the value of the @ symbol or just your root domain & it's going to be pointed to that 34.68.234.4 For CNAME records. You have the value of the word you want to use at the subdomain pointed to flash.funnels.msgsndr.com

Once you do that, you can connect it in the CSP settings. In order to do that, we are going to go into the system and we're going to go down to settings domains, and you can see, we have a bunch of different sub domains here. Once we've created that DNS record and given it some time to propagate, you'll be able to come in here and type in word.domain.com, whatever your record is & hit save. For example, if we go into CloudFlare, this would be the @ symbol pointed to that 34.68.234.4

If I wanted to add a subdomain, it would be a CNAME record of whatever word I want pointed to flash.funnels.msgsndr.com. I'm going to save that for when I go back into CSP, it may take a second to actually save and propagate, but then I'll be able to come back into the system and word.cultivatingsales.com & hit add. Then I can connect it to a funnel right here, but I'll also show you how to do that later in a second. And then now that is connected.

To connect it to a funnel or website, go under settings, this is where you are able to then connect the domain that you want. Then you can hit save (you can then later remove it as well) & now your URLs will populate for each page of your funnel! To change the paths, you go under the publishing tab and we can change this to…/oldworkshop & update it. Now my link is now word.cultivatingsales.com/oldworkshop for my page.

Let's say I wanted to connect just word.cultivatingsales.com (no paths) to this page, or I wanted to connect multiple domains to this page. I can go to settings domains and click the little pencil icon next to the one we want to connect and then you can choose a default page. So for this, I can choose the CSP workshop funnel as the default page, and then I can save it. So now I just connected this one directly to that page. I could also do this for another one. If I wanted to add multiple connections to the same page, and now with no paths behind it, I can repeat these steps. Now it opens up that page with word.cultivatingsales.com but if we go to the funnel, these links with paths will still work no matter what.

Along with fielding client inquiries and software technical support questions, I help our clients build tools to increase their sales. My ability to ask the right questions helps narrow down exactly what they need. Together we strategize on the projects, software, and support customized to their needs. For some, it could be our fully functional CRM with a marketing and workflow builder. The client package I create is designed to streamline communication with each of their customers and prospects to easily share their message and scale their sales. In some cases, clients look to me to build out a personalized webinar, start to finish. The result is a complete plug-and-play package that can be used to successfully launch their newest product or service. Adding to our ever-expanding list of client offerings, I have recently developed a complete Platform Certification Program to help teach entrepreneurs, OBM's, virtual assistants, and more how to develop critical knowledge about our platform so they can build their own business helping clients in the software.

Are you technologically stuck...

and you're not sure how to fix it?

We were there too!

Duct taping together a variety of software tools, praying that each wouldn't randomly break everything! Worse yet, trying to learn all those programs and pay for all those programs. What a waste of time and money!

In 2019, our CEO Melissa Blair began working with a talented team of programmers to build the Cultivating Sales PRO Platform to solve this very problem. First, she used it to automate and grow her company and then started teaching countless coaches, consultants, and advisors how to use it to grow their businesses too.

We invite you to poke around the website and if you find that you're intrigued with this concept of streamlining your sales and marketing tools, book an exploration meeting with someone from our team. This is not a sales meeting. We truly want to understand your business and see if this is right for you.
